What is this?

Basically it's a big forum for a whole bunch of people that know each other.

History

Can't be arsed writing a history, but here's a brief explanation of this particular website.

This is what I guess is "version three" of the lads. The original (and second version of) the lads was great, but the design got hella ugly pretty quick, and I've always had lots of ideas for the site that weren't included. Things like a comments system, customisable theme, having the option to split or merge the lads' and lasses' posts, a calendar, a few nifty user options and pretty much all the crap that's here now... but I didn't really have the know-how and I couldn't be fucked learning.

One day while looking at all g3rr4nd's stuff on wh3rd, I came across disArray. Yes, it does look very similar to this. Kinda a coincidence and kinda not, considering disArray was built long before this was, yet I had all the ideas long before I'd seen disArray. Since it had pretty much everything I wanted in lads n lasses, I asked g3rr4nd if himself and Emil would let me modify disArray for my own purposes, and I was told "certainly not." g3rr4nd wanted me to learn by building the site from scratch, simultaneously being both a cunt and I guess a good friend.

And so I've learnt a little. Alot of the stuff here I did the "shit way" because I couldn't get it working the "good way" I was trying to do in the first place, but it all works... either way. So, big thanks goes to g3rr4nd for that, his years of wh3rd hosting, and for putting up with my "how do you do this" questions, and Emil for not hating me... I hope. Big thanks also to Wadj who helped generate some ideas, improve things that weren't so great and spent lots of time testing the site before it went up.

From that guy you love, Ryan.
